    Responsibilities

    As Maintenance Technician you will be responsible for maintaining the iRide and for providing preventative maintenance while ensuring a safe working environment as part of the overnight maintenance team. Maintenance Technician will hold expert knowledge about the iRide and its components, troubleshoot iRide malfunctions and provide on-call support to the operators. Maintenance Specialists are expected to train operators in their duties such as identifying issues, checks, operating the iRide and troubleshooting malfunctions. You will report to Technical Manager and provide support as necessary.

     

    Reporting to the Technical Manager, your duties include, but are not limited to:

    • Operating the FlyOver Canada ride
    • Monitoring and ensuring guest and team member safety at all times
    • Performing ride safety checks
    • Assisting with evacuation procedures in the event of an emergency
    • Looking out for and inform Supervisors and Technical team of safety concerns
    • Complying with and participate in developing OH&S policies and safe work procedures
    • Recovering ride malfunctions
    • Performing regular maintenance of the iRide
    • Performing preventative maintenance of the iRide
    • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of all issues, resolutions and maintenance
    • Ensuring proper inventory levels for all parts and consumables
    • Consulting and communicating major iRide maintenance with the Technical Manager
    • Providing maintenance and repair services for facilities as necessary
    • Assisting with repairing and maintaining A/V systems
    • Assisting with general facilities maintenance
    • Responding to on-call support requests from operators
    • Training operators and maintaining training records for all operators and maintenance personnel
    • Maintaining excellent working relationships internally and with suppliers
    • Working overnight shifts, typically 7pm to 5am Monday to Thursday
    • Filling in for others weekend or day shifts as required
    • Other tasks as required by management

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated technical ability and a background and extended understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems
    • Methodical approach to problem solving
    • Ability to remain calm and think critically during emergency situations
    • High attention to detail
    • Team focused attitude
    • Ability to work effectively unsupervised
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Internally motivated
    • Demonstrated understanding of mechanical, electrical and computer systems
    • Exceptional interpersonal and guest service skills
    • Availability to work a variety of shifts including overnights, evenings, weekends and holidays in line with seasonal and business demands
    • Technical, mechanical or electrical background
    • Theme park ride maintenance background, preferred
    • AV/Entertainment systems experience, preferred
    • Trade qualification or related training, preferred
